PROFILE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Mohamed Hamed is a distinguished professor of radiology and interventional radiology at Cairo University, Egypt. Having spent decades practicing advanced imaging and minimally invasive therapeutic methods, He has earned global acclaim as an expert in his field. He is the Vice President of the International Society of Non-Invasive and Virtual Surgery and, furthermore, the founder of HIFU Egypt, the first center for focused ultrasound tumor ablation in the Middle East and Africa. This groundbreaking center has, therefore, revolutionized the approach to non-invasive cancer treatments in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Prof. Hamed heads the medical imaging department at Assalam International Hospital, New Cairo, a Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited facility. He also serves as a senior consultant in interventional radiology at leading private hospitals. Notably, these include As-Salam International Hospital and Dar Al Fouad Hospital. His specialties are oncology interventions like radiofrequency ablation (RFA<\/a>), microwave ablation<\/a>, embolization, irreversible electroporation (IRE), and complex pain management procedures. Prof. Hamed has been pivotal in bringing new interventional radiology procedures to Egypt and,as a result, raising patient care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from his clinical success, Prof.Mohamed Hamed has also made significant contributions to academic research and education. He has authored many articles in reputable global journals with the themes of advanced radiology and hyperthermia methods. As a frequent speaker at international conferences<\/a>, including events hosted by CIRSE, PAIRS, and ESR; consequently, he has shared his expertise with peers worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Hamed has also demonstrated leadership in healthcare by founding the Egyptian Pain Foundation, the Shefaa Interventional Center, and Elixir, a center dedicated to gastrointestinal and minimally invasive treatments. Moreover, his commitment to improving medical services and expanding the scope of interventional radiology underscores his dedication to advancing the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
