Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Mustafa Zelal Muallem is a highly esteemed German-Syrian expert in gynecological oncology and oncological surgery. He currently serves as Professor of Gynecological Oncology and Oncological Surgery at Charité Medical University of Berlin, where he also holds the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Gynecology with the Center for Oncological Surgery.

Prof. Muallem’s clinical expertise includes the management of gynecological cancers such as ovarian, uterine, vulvar, and vaginal cancers, with a strong focus on nerve-sparing and minimally invasive surgical techniques. Prof. Muallem is also known for his work in reconstructive surgery for women post-cancer treatment, emphasizing both functionality and aesthetics. Moreover, his research interests include DNA methylation markers, early detection methods, and personalized treatment approaches to improve outcomes for gynecological cancer patients.

  • Current Position: Professor of Gynecological Oncology and Oncological Surgery, Charité Medical University of Berlin (2022)
  • Principal Investigator: Lead investigator in multiple clinical trials focused on gynecological oncology, particularly randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
